The tracks as always are typically “AR Rahman” style, and will be liked only after the third or fourth time of hearing. They need to grow on you. The album is not exceptional, however a lot of talent has gone into this one album.
“Guzarish”, the song heard most, thanks to the promos of Ghajini is a song that you can like on first hearing. Prasoon Joshi has totally outdone himself with the lyrics and the singer Javed Ali has done complete justice to the track. The track stands out even if it hadn’t been for the promos featuring it.
Among the other songs, another song worth mention is “Latoo mein latoo” sung by Shreya Ghoshal. She’s sung the song like never before, and when you hear it, one suddenly tends to think of Barso re from Guru, another AR Rahman track. The lyrics are not as great as the rest of the album, but the singing tends to cover up for it.
Over all, the album isn’t a mega hit album, but for music lovers who understand the evergreen nature of AR Rahman’s work, the album is a good listen!
