Her name is ‘Pooja Ruparel’
Flying start: She started off her career with big films like ‘King Uncle’ and ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’ and there has been no looking back since. Twenty two-year-old Pooja Ruparel is still known as Kajol’s little sister Chutki (in ‘DDLJ’) and is fast charting her route into modelling and acting. “I started off when I was just 4 years old with a commercial for Good Day biscuits and I’d done two prominent films by the time I was thirteen,” informs Pooja, whose Reliance Insurance commercial is currently on air.
“After such a fantastic start, I got a lot of exposure.”
Bookworm: She describes herself as someone who is both academically and artistically inclined. “I did my MA in psychology. I think we must prioritise certain things in life and I chose to do justice to everything,” she says. “Acting is something that happened by chance but now I’m keen on building my repertoire.”
Telly talk: Pooja now also plays Falguni in ‘Baa, Bahu aur Baby’. Though she realises the stereotypes that tag television actors in India, she refuses to jump on the bandwagon. “I chose ‘Baa, Bahu…’ because the serial has a realistic way of dealing with issues. It’s not larger than life; I have great scope to learn here.”
